One of the highlights at the WTO booth was the presentation of the new quick change system “QuickFlex®”. The interest in this innovative product exceeded the expectations.
WTO displayed several new products and innovations for Turning Centers to a large number of interested visitors. Beside the new QuickFlex® following new products have been presented:
- A new patent applied tooholder interface with extreme high accuracy (repeatability) for turrets with BMT interface.
- New toolholder programs and short adapters without gripper groove for the worldwide most popular quick change system Coromant Capto®.
- New gear hobbing units for manufacturing gears on turning centers.
- New driven toolholder programs for Swiss Type turning centers, including a newly developed innovative Thread Whirling unit.
Like in the last years several turning centers of leading manufactures have been equipped with WTO precision toolholders:
- Hanwha


Hanwha equipped three machine models with right angle dril/milling units from WTO.
- Nexturn


Nexturn equipped several machines with WTO precision toolholders; one with a gear hobbing unit.
- Doosan
Doosan equipped their new Swiss Type turning center Puma ST20G with a thread whirling unit from WTO
Facts SIMTOS:
The fifteenth “Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show” (SIMTOS) 2012 which ran from April 17-22 in Seoul, Korea, had a total registration for the six-day event of 111.000. SIMTOS covered 700 companies from 35 countries exhibiting.
The next SIMTOS will be in Seoul, Korea, in 2014.
